IET is producing Skylight by David Hare, at the Teatro dell’Orologio for March 2012. Bringing Skylight to fruition is a great undertaking with a collaboration of many people. We produce quality entertainment with professional artists, yet we must provide them with the necessary resources. Our budget is not excessive and we try to keep costs down, whilst staying true to the script. Once the production is over, we donate as much of the set as possible to local charities!
FACT:
Ticket sales cover less than half the costs associated with producing live theatre.
Historically theatre companies have relied on government subsidies to balance their budgets, sadly, those subsidies are gradually disappearing. Theatre benefits a community socially and culturally. Numerous international studies* prove theatre boosts an individual’s motivation to be civically engaged, stimulates a local economy, and increases awareness.
IET needs the community to help bridge that gap so we can provide our artistic team with the necessary resources and keep ticket prices affordable for you, your family and friends.

 Our set designer has to transform the Teatro dell’Orologio into a 1st floor flat in N.W. London.
€ 1 - € 50 = to ‘dress the stage’ e.g. rug, books, blankets, working electric heater, home décor.
€ 51- € 250 = 2 doors, 2 windows, bookcase, table with 2 chairs, couch.
€ 251- €500 = a ‘working’ kitchen. (Kyra cooks spaghetti on stage, it needs to be fully functional, running water, electric stove.) Wood needed to build kitchen facade and apartment walls, nails, screws etc.
Once the production is over, we donate as much of the set as possible to local charities.
DRESS AN ACTOR:
€1 - €75 = Kyra Hollis, 30ish school teacher: Heavy winter overcoat, thick woollen gloves, large towel (that wraps around her), jeans, jumper , big woolly cardigan, scarf, shoes, slippers.
€1- €200 = Tom Sergeant 50ish wealthy businessman: Long winter coat, Suit (trousers & jacket), smart shoes, shirt , tie, watch.
€1- €50 = Edward Sergeant, 18 year old student: Blue denim jeans, blue denim jacket, leather gloves, jumper, scarf, shoes.
Once the production is over, we donate as much of the costume as possible to local charities.

On Monday, 19 March 2012, IET takes possession of the Teatro dell’Orologio beginning at:
9:00 LOAD-IN
 €1 - €250 = Moving Van collect set, props, costumes and take to theatre
 €1 - €100 = 2 Strong Gentlemen unload the van
15:00 HANG AND FOCUS LIGHTS
 €1- €175 = 15 Lights are hung and focused (fresnels, flood lights, spots, birdies, floorcans, parcans)
€1- €75 = Extension Cords to connect the lights to the electrical outlets, Black Tape to hide the extension cords, ajs, amps, adaptors
€1 - €50 = Various Gels, (transparent sheets of colour to cover lights)
19:00 SOUND REHEARSAL
 € 1 - €100 = Speakers for the front of house and on stage to give depth & realism to the sound e.g. running bath sound from bathroom and not the front row.
€300 = Original Sound Composition for scene changes and underscoring certain moments of the play.
Wednesday 21st March 2012 curtain up at 21:00…. just incase there are opening night jitters…
 €2.75 A cup cammomile tea for first night nerves. 
€5 A shot of whisky for first night nerves.
